These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of 9Bar, a mobile application made by Kindred ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using 9Bar, you agree to these Terms.
9Bar is an espresso dialing-in tool that helps users log shots, receive adjustment recommendations, and access anonymous community data about coffee beans. The app is iOS-only and requires an account to use.
You must create an account to use 9Bar. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or a verified email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Free plan. The free tier allows you to log shots for up to 5 bean bags at no charge. Your 5 free bean slots never expire and are not affected by account activity.
9Bar Pro. 9Bar Pro is a subscription that unlocks unlimited bean slots and full dial-in guidance. Pro is available as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, billed through Apple's in-app purchase system.
You own the shot data and notes you enter into 9Bar. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data to provide the service, and to include anonymized, aggregated statistics derived from it in community benchmarks.
Community benchmark data is anonymous — your individual shots are never attributed to you in any public-facing or shared context.

9Bar provides espresso guidance based on extraction science and community data. Recommendations are informational only. Dial-in results depend on your specific equipment, beans, water, and technique. We make no guarantee that any suggested adjustment will produce a desired outcome.
The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kindred shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of 9Bar, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. Upon deletion, your personal data and shot history will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymous aggregated statistics already contributed to community benchmarks cannot be reversed. Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of 9Bar after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
